Practice standards

Stow Veterinary Surgeons is proud to be a Tier 2 RCVS accredited General Practice.

The Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) Practice Standards Scheme (PSS) is a voluntary initiative that aims to encourage high standards of service, facilities and safety in practice. It offers peace of mind to clients of accredited practices and a more informed choice to the animal-owning public.

To achieve the RCVS Practice Standards, veterinary practices must undergo a rigorous inspection by the RCVS every four years to confirm that it meets the requirements. These include having a hygienic and well maintained practice, which has arranged 24-hour emergency cover and has access to equipment, eg laboratory facilities, radiography and ultrasound. Computerised client records are easily retrievable, up to date and confidential, which allows us to monitor the outcome of treatments (clinical audit).

We are committed to ongoing education and training of staff. All clinical staff members are continually undergoing further professional development to keep up to date in the rapidly advancing field of veterinary medicine.

From your point of view, Stow Veterinary Surgeon’s accreditation as RCVS General Practice should offer reassurance and peace of mind that your pet is being treated in a premises that meets stringent standards on facilities by veterinary surgeons that you can trust to be fully up to date and competent.
